Perspective.
For this project I involved the perspective thinking skill. I did this in a couple ways. For my history portion I researched the perspective on pizza by region and how that made different styles of pizza arise. I wanted to know why all these pizzas where different yet they all came from one place and one idea. For my art portion I took those views on pizza from the different regions and applied it to pasta making my own style of pasta. I wanted to represent the advance evolution through food in a different way, and what better way then another Italian speciality, pasta. For my LA portion I analyzed a American cook book and a Italian cook book and discussed how they represent the different views on food from country to country. I thought that this was the best way to look at the base of the food, how it was cooked.
About My History Portion
For my history portion I researched three regions and how there views on pizza changed pizza in there region. I started with the famous "New York Style" pizza. I learned small things like how people think the great tasting crust is from the water and all the minerals in it. Then I analyzed Chicago's "Deep Dish" pasta and how it changed to be more filling instead of the more classic super thin Napoleon style pizza. The last region I researched Napoli style pizza. I learned about a legend about how a poor chef invented the classic cheese pizza.

About My Art Portion
For my art portion I started with reviewing my history research and then applied this to pasta. I started with a "New York Style" which was a thin flat pasta resembling lasagna pasta. Then for my "Chicago Style" pasta is was a extra stuffed ravioli representing the deep dish style pizza.
About My LA Portion
For my LA portion I looked at two cook books, a American cook book and a Italian cook book. I used the two cook books to reflect how the perspective on food is Italy is different then the perspective on food in America. I learned that Italian food is much more personal and family oriented then it's American counterpart. This is reflect by small things like how Americans use much more precise measurements while the Italians use broad terms or how American's are about efficiently making the food while Italians care about making the food taste amazing.
